On the surface, it would seem as though cruise travelers have smooth sailing ahead. There are more ships than ever - including the next new biggest on the planet - carrying more passengers to more regions of the world and, with the exception of a pesky stretch of Somali coastline, travel by sea is probably safer than it has been and definitely safer than in most popular cities.
Will 2009 be cruising's biggest year ever?
